The Training

Over the course of 7 days, You'll be guided by two lead facilitators, Yancy
Schwartz and Ashby Drake, both direct students of Sri Dharma Mittra with decades of teaching experience plus 2 assistants to ensure every participant receives direct
feedback and plenty of one on one time to ask questions.

Together, we'll deconstruct the architecture of a great vinyasa class: how asana families relate, how to build safely toward a "peak pose," how anatomy should play a role in your sequences (and how to avoid fear mongering with specific blanket cues that can potentially stunt your practice as well as your students) and how theme, breath, and pacing can turn your classes into impactful, memorable experiences every time you teach.

Mornings begin with a full 1-2 hour practice — vinyasa, pranayama, and meditation — so you feel the principles in your body before we break them down in workshops.

Afternoons are hands-on: sequencing labs, advanced asana clinics (arm balances, inversions, deep backbends — with modifications that keep every
body in the room), practice teaching, and real-time feedback.

You'll leave with a new understanding of some of the ancient practices passed
down directly from Sri Dharma Mittra and Yogi Gupta as well as Larry Schultz,
the creator of Rocket yoga, a personal library of sequences, a repeatable
framework for building your own, and the confidence to teach — or practice —
with intention rather than habit.

Who this is for: Dedicated practitioners ready to deepen their understanding,
wellness professionals — therapists, bodyworkers, coaches — who want to bring
intelligent movement into their work and certified yoga teachers (200hr+) seeking
50 Yoga Alliance CE hours. (However, no teaching certification required.)
Includes: 50 contact hours, comprehensive training manual, sequence template
library, lodging & meals, certificate of completion, and 50 YACEP continuing
